Headline: UNCAPTIONED: Ariana Grande promises fans she's not going to 'abandon' music
Caption: Ariana Grande has insisted she isn't going to "abandon" singing and music. The superstar received critical acclaim for her portrayal of Glinda in the 2024 musical Wicked, for which she earned a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Ariana shut down a rumour suggesting she's quitting music to focus on her acting career. ”Very silly of you all to assume that just because I have my hands full with many things that I plan to abandon singing & music... !!!" she wrote alongside a clip of her singing her 2016 track, Into You, at the 2025 Met Gala in May. ”It is and has always been my lifeline. there will need to be room made for all of it. it may not look exactly like it did before but I much prefer how it looks in my head (sic).” Ariana went on to note that she is having a lot of fun working on her new projects and may even return to singing next year. ”I feel grateful and excited and inspired. :) finding a balance, between many projects and endeavors I love, and doing it my own way... so I'm working on a plan to sing for you all next year. even if it's just for a little. I love you.” Earlier this week, producers at Warner Bros. Pictures Animation announced that Ariana and Josh Gad will lead the voice cast for Wicked director Jon M. Chu's adaptation of the classic Dr. Seuss book, Oh, the Places You'll Go! The film is slated for release in March 2028. Meanwhile, the 7 Rings hitmaker is also set to star opposite Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller in the upcoming fourth instalment of the Meet the Parents franchise.
