Headline: RAW VIDEO: Hannah Waddingham And Juno Temple Barbies Released To Mark International Women's Day

Caption: Ted Lasso stars turned best pals Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple are to be honoured with their own Barbie dolls ahead of International Women’s Day on 8 March 2025. The pair met on the set of hit soccer show Ted Lasso, and their enduring friendship both on and off screen is beloved by fans - prompting Mattel to honour them as ‘Role Models’. Hannah Waddingham, star of stage and screen says “Being named a ‘Barbie Role Model’ is an incredible, unexpected honour. My ever present inner eight-year-old self really can’t quite believe it! “But then to share this special moment with one of the most loving, supportive, endlessly championing women I have ever met is totally perfect. Our friendship has been unswerving, real and totally right since the second we laid eyes on each other and continues to be the most wonderful gift on set, in this industry and most importantly, in real life.” She adds: “I hope our dolls will be a symbol that encourages and celebrates all kinds of female friendship through the glamorous shared moments yes, but most importantly through all the normal days when you need love, strength and support the most.” Juno agrees, saying: “It’s so incredibly special. Through my career, I’ve been lucky enough to help tell the stories of so many amazing women, and now to have my own story – and my friendship with Hannah – acknowledged like this. It’s truly an honour and an iconic moment that I will forever hold preciously in my heart. I know I’m going to be proud of our dolls forever.” The Hannah doll wears a look inspired by Hannah’s red carpet look at the 2024 SAG Awards, where she wore a shimmery red Tony Ward couture gown, and a cardboard clutch with artwork hand-drawn by her daughter. The Juno doll wears an homage to her 2024 Emmy’s Awards look - a vintage Roberto Cavalli orange dress, with a tiger shaped clutch inspired by her character in Fargo. The brand is showcasing the collective strength of women empowering women and spotlighting real-life friendships to encourage girls to embrace girlhood. Studies show that 55% of Gen Z and Millennials say friendship is more important than a romantic relationship1, and women with a tight-knit circle of supportive women are 2.5 times more likely to become high performers at work. “One of the greatest tools that a girl can have is the support and encouragement of her peers,” said Krista Berger, Senior Vice President of Barbie and Global Head of Dolls, Mattel. “As we approach International Women’s Day, Barbie is proud to honor legendary female friendship duos across different backgrounds, professions, and parts of the world. We know firsthand that friendships formed at a young age can help fuel social and professional growth, setting girls up for limitless possibilities.” In addition to Hannah and Juno, other international stars honoured include U.S. gymnasts Jordan Chiles and Jade Carey, Australian tennis champs Evonne Goolagong Cawley and Ash Barty. There’s also Paola Antonini and Kelen Ferreira from Brazil. Paola and Kelen formed a meaningful partnership when Paola portrayed a character inspired by Kelen’s life-changing accident in a series.
