Headline: UNCAPTIONED: Netanyahu Says Israel Will Intensify Strikes Against Hezbollah

Caption: Netanyahu Says Israel Will Intensify Strikes Against Hezbollah. Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel will intensify military strikes against Hezbollah despite an extended ceasefire agreement. The Israel Defense Forces announced a new wave of attacks targeting Hezbollah positions in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley and other areas. Hezbollah said it responded with 22 drone and rocket attacks targeting Israeli soldiers, tanks and military sites. Netanyahu declared that Israel was “at war with Hezbollah” and said the military had been instructed to “deal them a crushing blow.” The Israeli prime minister claimed the campaign had already “eliminated over 600 terrorists” and called for even greater military intensity. Far-right ministers Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir have urged a wider offensive, including strikes on Beirut. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun demanded a full Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon ahead of planned negotiations in Washington next week. Since the ceasefire extension in April, more than 400 people in Lebanon and 10 Israeli soldiers have reportedly been killed amid ongoing cross-border fighting.
