Headline: Scientists Rebuild The Face Of Santa Claus After 1,700 Years

Caption: Scientists Rebuild The Face Of Santa Claus After 1,700 Years. Scientists have revealed the face of Saint Nicholas for the first time in 1,700 years through a skull reconstruction. Renowned for his generosity, Saint Nicholas served as the inspiration for Sinterklaas, which eventually transformed into Santa Claus. The legendary figure, combined with England’s Father Christmas, created modern-day Santa. No portraits exist of Saint Nicholas, but experts reconstructed his face from his skull. Lead author Cicero Moraes describes the face as “strong and gentle,” echoing the 1823 poem ’Twas The Night Before Christmas. Saint Nicholas was a courageous bishop who lived the teachings of Christ, helping those in need despite risks. The reconstruction process used 3D modelling and anatomical deformation techniques for accuracy. His bones, originally interred in Myra, were later relocated to Bari, Italy, where they remain today.
