Headline: The future of camping? Foldable tiny trailer transforms into mini two-bedroom portable house that you can take anywhere
Caption: Camping enthusiasts may soon be saying goodbye to their old, rickety tents in favour of a sleek new invention that turns the humble tent into a mini home on wheels. Wingcube is a foldable wooden cabin that transforms from a compact, cabinet-like structure into a spacious, portable shelter that could change the way we camp. Designed by inventor Paul Schulz, the innovative concept combines the comfort of a cabin with the flexibility of a tent, and promises to redefine outdoor living. At first glance, the Wingcube looks unassuming, its wooden exterior featuring a rounded, almost cabin-like shape. But once unfolded, the mini home reveals a surprisingly spacious interior - more than three times the size of its packed form. Two double bedrooms unfold from each side, creating comfortable sleeping areas with windows to take in the surrounding views. The middle section of the Wingcube houses a small kitchenette, complete with a fridge and built-in shelving. It’s basic, but perfect for quick meals and storing essentials. While it doesn’t come with an oven, it certainly provides all the necessary features for a mobile getaway. A key feature of the Wingcube is its speed and ease of set-up. Within minutes, the structure unfolds to create a full living space. A dining table slides out beneath the unit, offering an outdoor eating area that can be sheltered by the tent frame. Simply unfold the walls, drop the tent frame, and within moments, you have a fully functional mini home. Schulz, who came up with the idea, hopes to have a full-scale prototype ready by the end of the year. “I’m excited to bring this project to life. It’s not just a tent, it’s a complete camping experience in a compact form,” he said. “Once it’s set up, it’s like you’ve got a small home wherever you are.” Currently in development, the Wingcube has no confirmed price tag, and details on availability are still scarce. But with its ability to fold up and be towed by a car, it could revolutionise how people experience camping in the future.
