Caption: Alpine Bovines! Sussex Cows Stage Their Very Own Ski Sunday By Invading Slopes. A herd of cows staged their very own Ski Sunday by hitting the slopes at Knockhatch Ski School in Halisham, East Sussex. Hazel Jaggers, 38, a seasoned instructor with a farming background, was midway through a beginner's snowboard lesson when the Alpine bovines made their grand entrance. “My dad was a farmer, so I know cows tend to follow the path of least resistance – or the sassiest cow in the group,” Hazel laughed. “But I never thought I'd be using my snowboarding whistle to herd livestock!”. With snowboarders pausing their practice to gawk, Hazel quickly called a time-out and rang around local farms. The culprits? A curious crew from Primrose Farm in Arlington, just a 10-minute trot away. The Knockhatch team joined by reinforcements from Primrose, gently guided the cows back to their field though not before a few of them tried to test their hooves on the Snowflex surface. So, why did the cows cross the slope? According to experts, cows may wander if their field is overgrazed, water is scarce, or if a gate's been left open. Sometimes, it's just one adventurous cow leading the rest on an adventure - or in this case an unlikely skiing session.
