Headline: UNCAPTIONED: Judge Orders Trump to Pay E. Jean Carroll $5 Million

Caption: Judge Orders Trump to Pay E. Jean Carroll $5 Million. A federal judge has ordered U.S. President Donald Trump to pay writer E. Jean Carroll more than $5 million after a jury found him liable for sexually abusing and defaming her. Judge Lewis Kaplan ordered the payment, including nearly $800,000 in interest, saying Trump had delayed the case for years. A New York jury ruled in 2023 that Trump sexually abused Carroll in the mid-1990s and defamed her in 2022 when he denied her allegations. The ruling came after the Supreme Court of the United States declined to hear Trump's appeal, allowing the judgment to stand. An appeals court also rejected Trump's last-minute request to delay the payment. Trump had deposited $5.55 million into a federal court account during the appeals process, and the judge ordered the funds transferred to Carroll's lawyers. A separate jury previously awarded Carroll an additional $83 million in damages, though that case is still under appeal. Trump has vowed to continue fighting the case, calling it an example of political “lawfare." Instructions: THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
