Caption: Jannik Sinner Rehires Former Fitness Coach Umberto Ferrara After Substance Investigation. World number one Jannik Sinner has brought back former fitness coach Umberto Ferrara after a brief separation due to a banned substance investigation. Ferrara and physiotherapist Giacomo Naldi left Sinner's team in August 2024 after Sinner tested positive for clostebol, a banned substance. Sinner’s team stated that Ferrara’s return reflects a focus on performance and continuity as Sinner prepares for upcoming tournaments, including the Cincinnati Open and US Open. Sinner was cleared by an independent tribunal in August 2024, but the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) appealed the ruling, resulting in a three-month ban in February 2025. Sinner explained that clostebol entered his system through an over-the-counter spray applied by Naldi to treat a hand injury. Ferrara provided the spray for Naldi’s personal use, and warned him against using it on Sinner, who later accepted responsibility for the error. After the fallout, Sinner appointed Marco Panichi as fitness coach and Ulises Badio as physiotherapist in September 2024, but parted ways with them just before Wimbledon 2025. Sinner made his tennis comeback at the Italian Open in May and went on to win his fourth Grand Slam by defeating Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final. With Ferrara's return, Sinner aims to solidify his fitness and strategy for the remainder of the season. Instructions: THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
