Headline: UNCAPTIONED: Top UK Doctors Warn Screen Time Harms Children

Caption: Top UK Doctors Warn Screen Time Harms Children. The UK’s most senior doctors say there is now an “overwhelming consensus” that excessive screen time and social media use can harm children. In a response to a government consultation on social media rules for under-16s, the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges said doctors should routinely ask young patients about their screen habits. Academy Chair Jeanette Dickson compared the issue to past public health concerns such as smoking and seatbelt use, saying it had become a major concern across the medical profession. The government is currently considering new measures for children’s social media use with Technology Secretary Liz Kendall saying changes will be introduced by the end of 2026. One option under discussion is a ban on social media for children, similar to laws introduced in Australia. Instructions: THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
