Headline: UNCAPTIONED: Ed Sheeran to exhibit paintings he created in disused car park

Caption: Ed Sheeran is launching an exhibition of original paintings he created in a disused car park. The Thinking Out Loud hitmaker will display his artwork at the Cosmic Carpark Paintings exhibition at the HENI Gallery in Soho, London from 10 July to 1 August. Sheeran created the artworks by splashing paint onto canvases in a disused car park, with the singer describing his style as "Jackson Pollock but with colourful house paint”. Explaining how the art came about, the British singer-songwriter said in a statement: ”I started painting at the end of my Divide Tour in 2019 and it's something that I've used as a creative outlet ever since. When I was growing up, both of my parents worked in art, so I've naturally always been interested in it, and I always enjoyed studying art at school.” "I was back and forth on tour last year, and I used a lot of my downtime in the UK to paint. I'd run to a disused carpark in Soho each morning, paint, then run home and I'd do that daily until I headed back out on tour again.” The Shape of You singer initially made the paintings for his loved ones before he was encouraged to "put on (his) own thing" by artist Damien Hirst and HENI founder Joe Hage, his good friends. The paintings are available to buy, with proceeds raising funds for the Ed Sheeran Foundation, which supports music education in the U.K. The Cosmic Carpark Paintings exhibition runs from 10 July to 1 August. Admission is free, and appointments are not required. Instructions: THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
