The President-Elect has tasked the three Hollywood stars with promoting business opportunities in Hollywood. ”It is my honour to announce Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone, to be Special Ambassadors to a great but very troubled place, Hollywood, California," the 78-year-old wrote on his Truth Social platform. ”They will serve as Special Envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to Foreign Countries, BACK - BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE!” He added that the "very talented people" will serve as his "eyes and ears" in the entertainment industry. ”I will get done what they suggest," he wrote. "It will again be, like The United States of America itself, The Golden Age of Hollywood!” Mel Gibson admitted he only learned of his appointment when Trump posted about it publicly. ”I got the tweet at the same time as all of you and was just as surprised," the 69-year-old said in a statement to US Weekly. "Nevertheless, I heed the call. My duty as a citizen is to give any help and insight I can.” The Braveheart star, who recently lost his home in the Los Angeles fires finished his statement by joking, "Any chance the position comes with an Ambassador's residence?” All three men have previously shown their support for Trump. Gibson, 78, publicly endorsed him in November, while Stallone introduced Trump at Mar-a-Lago for his post-election victory speech.
