Caption: Former Ferrari Chief Joins McLaren’s Road Car Division as Director. McLaren Group Holdings has appointed Luca Di Montezemolo, the former Ferrari F1 mastermind, as a director of McLaren Automotive. Di Montezemolo, renowned for his role in Ferrari's F1 resurgence, joins McLaren's leadership team after the company made key changes. The appointment was confirmed in a Companies House filing by McLaren Group Holdings, adding Di Montezemolo as its ninth board director. While Di Montezemolo will focus on McLaren's road car business, his role does not extend to Formula 1 operations. The move comes after CYVN Holdings' takeover of McLaren Automotive, which is now part of the UK-based McLaren Group Holdings umbrella. Di Montezemolo served as Ferrari's chairman until 2014 and played a pivotal role in their F1 successes during the late ‘90s. CYVN Holdings' strategy for McLaren includes expanding into high-performance and luxury car sectors to elevate McLaren globally. McLaren Automotive also appointed Nick Collins as CEO, who now serves alongside Di Montezemolo on the board. McLaren Group chairman Paul Walsh was recently added to the board as part of the company’s restructuring. McLaren Racing, however, remains majority-owned by the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Mumtalakat sovereign wealth fund. Instructions: THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
