President Donald Trump, at his Florida resort during the incident, called the attack "an act of evil, an act of hatred and an act of terror” and announced a review of all Afghans admitted during the Biden administration. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth confirmed the deployment of 500 additional National Guard troops to the city, joining roughly 2,200 already stationed there.
