Headline: RAW VIDEO: King Charles Former Land Rover Goes Up For Sale
Caption: A Land Rover Defender once owned by King Charles III is up for sale. Steeped in Royal British history, the 2010 Land Rover Defender 90 was driven by the then Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall. Delivered new to the Royal Garage at Highgrove House on November 15, 2010, the Defender was originally supplied by JLR Special Vehicles for the exclusive use of the royal couple. A confirmation letter, addressed to Tim Williams, Head Chauffeur to HRH The Prince of Wales and TRH The Duchess of Cornwall, remains part of the vehicle’s documented history. Clad in a striking Keswick Green finish with a Charcoal Grey interior, the Defender has been pampered to perfection over the years – with only the slightest hint of wear on the driver’s seat, suggesting it wasn’t heavily chauffeur-driven. Despite its tough, off-road reputation, it boasts modern luxuries such as heated seats and heated screens at both the front and rear, blending Land Rover’s classic capability with unexpected comfort. Meticulously maintained as part of a select Royal Collection, the Defender has clocked just 24,595 miles. Prospective buyers will also receive a treasure trove of original documentation, including a Land Rover Motoring Users Guide, an Assistance Membership Card, a period Certificate of Motor Insurance, and the complete service and book pack. Notably, its very first service was carried out by M.J. Fews, a renowned Land Rover specialist from near Highgrove. While the current ‘72 HRH’ registration remains with the present keeper (with separate negotiations on offer), the vehicle’s original registration, OV 60 GKA, and multiple documents confirm its royal lineage – even though no snap exists of King Charles III behind the wheel. Iconic Auctioneers are set to put the motor on the auction block on March 22nd, with estimates placing it in the region of £43,000 to £50,000.
