Headline: RAW VIDEO: RSPCA hero saves fox wedged between fence posts

Caption: A fox cheated death after becoming trapped by the neck between two concrete fence posts in Manchester. RSPCA Animal Rescue Officer Freya Norton raced to the scene on Friday, June 27, after the stricken creature was spotted wedged fast in the narrow gap. Freya first tried to lift the animal out using a grasper and a towel to cover its head – but the fox was jammed in too tightly. Thinking quickly, she fetched a car jack, prising open the top of the fence just enough for the frightened fox to wriggle free. Amazingly, the animal escaped with only minor grazes to its neck. After a quick check-up, it was released into nearby woodland to recover. Freya said: "It’s always a relief when we can free an animal without causing them further distress. This fox was very lucky – being trapped like that could have ended very differently if it hadn’t been spotted. "Thankfully, despite the ordeal, it was bright and alert, and we were able to get there in time and safely release it back into the wild where it belongs."
